Located in Delray Beach, Florida, Addison Reserve Country Club now features three newly redesigned nine-hole golf courses—Redemption, Salvation, and Trepidation—all regrassed with Platinum TE Paspalum.

Joshua Fleisher, Director of Golf Course Maintenance at Addison Reserve Country Club

To lead the redesign, Addison Reserve enlisted renowned golf course architect Rees Jones and associate Steve Weisser to modernize the original layouts, which were designed by Arthur Hills and constructed in the 1990s. The redesign marks the final phase of a comprehensive transformation of the entire community.

A central feature of the renovation was the decision to regrass with Platinum TE Paspalum, a turfgrass known for its sustainability, visual appeal, and strong performance. Director of Golf Course Maintenance Joshua Fleisher said the choice was clear from the start.

“We actually selected Platinum TE Paspalum really early in the planning process, during some of the first site visits with the architect,” said Fleisher.

“We visited a local club that was using it, and everyone was blown away by the condition of the course. It just stood out immediately. For me, once the paspalum conversation came up, I knew I only wanted to go with Platinum TE.”

Fleisher noted that his prior experience with the turfgrass played a key role in the decision.

“I’d worked with Platinum TE on tee surfaces before and was really impressed with how it performed,” he said. “It has this vibrant glow that other grasses just don’t have. The canopy is super dense, which looks amazing and helps keep out weeds and other unwanted growth. From a playability standpoint, it’s perfect for low mowing heights around the greens, you can chip it clean and generate spin.”

When purchasing the turfgrass, Fleisher called on Pike Creek Turf, a licensed grower of Platinum TE, based in Adel, Georgia.

“Bruce Allison and the entire Pike Creek Turf team are the best,” said Fleisher. “They’ve been the most reliable source for turfgrass. When things were coming down to the wire and we were trying to get all the grass down so that we could open on time, they were more than willing to ensure that we had everything that we would need to meet our opening date.”
